Overview

Red Horizon Labs has completed the establishment of its first planetary industry network in the Sobaseki system, a high-security Caldari region one jump from the Jita trade hub. This initial deployment consists of six planets designed for low-maintenance, high-efficiency production.

Site Selection Process

To locate an optimal system, we compiled every solar system within two jumps of Jita and catalogued their planetary types. Using the Eve Helper tool (https://evehelper.pages.dev/) we modeled production chains, evaluated commodity profitability by ISK per volume, and cross-checked with the Alysii PI Tool (https://alysii.com/eve/pi/) for rapid visualization of resource dependencies.

Although several nearby systems could support full-chain P1→P4 production, RHLX Ops limited initial complexity to Refined (P2) commodities to minimize maintenance during early testing.

Planetary Design

Sobaseki Ice Planet PI Setup

Analysis identified Supertensile Plastics on Ice Planets as a profitable single-planet P2 commodity.

  • Inputs: 40 × Biomass + 40 × Oxygen = 5 × Supertensile Plastics
  • Sources: 40 Biomass from 6000 Planktic Colonies; Oxygen from Noble Gas
  • Facilities: 2 Extractor Control Units, 4 Basic Industry Facilities, 2 Advanced Industry Facilities, 1 Launch Pad

Despite lower high-sec extraction rates and higher tax levels, throughput projections remain stable with no waste. Each ECU processes ~6,000 units / 30 min cycle, yielding 12,000 units hourly on a 1d 11h schedule. Output from the Advanced Industry Facilities is routed automatically to launch pad for export.

Output & Economic Forecast

At steady state, the colony produces 10 units of Supertensile Plastics per hour.

At Jita’s average market price of ≈ 14,400 ISK per unit, projected daily revenue equals ≈ 3.4 M ISK before tax and logistics.

Next Steps

The Sobaseki colony will run for several weeks to collect baseline data on yield stability and tax overhead. Subsequent reports will document:

  1. Deployment of production systems on the remaining five planets.
  2. Aggregate investment vs revenue analysis.
  3. Comparative throughput metrics across high-sec vs low-sec environments.

RHLX Operations Division continues its mission to build the future between the stars, one colony at a time.
